What you would do as our Trade Compliance Specialist.

In this role you’ll get to work collaboratively with the broker, US factories and stakeholders, support standardization of Process and drive for results and compliance.


Ideally you will have excellent personal effectiveness including planning, organizing, problem solving, initiative and critical thinking and able to handle a large amount of data from multiple sourcing locations.

Job Requirements

  • Be the primary interface between factories, carriers, government agencies, customs brokers, and designated affiliates regarding trade compliance.
  • Responsible for the following key areas: Expert knowledge of, & ability to design programs to comply with laws and regulations related to trade compliance business activity, must be proficient in working with, and the requirements of, trade authorities in the United States and Canada, must be proficient working with; strategic trade programs such as duty drawback and free trade agreements, audits of import and export processes and documentation, application of cross border taxes, recordkeeping, valuation, and classification of internationally shipped goods.
  • Assign tariff classifications to finished goods, samples, and ensure classifications are supported through trade research and due diligence Leverage cross-functional relationships to gain information to enable quality decision making.
  • Apply knowledge of Customs regulations and participating government agency requirements across Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. to a variety of products.
  • Execute cross border operations and timely manage operational requests from within the business, brokers, and freight forwarders.
  • Deliver savings and cost avoidance for the company by ideating and implementing continuous improvements to trade processes and risk mitigation.
  • Manage relationships with customs brokers.
  • Act as primary business stakeholder and collaborate with commercial team on brokerage sourcing initiatives.
  • Leads reviews of Broker performance periodically.
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure compliance with trade programs or other duty/cost avoidance programs.
  • Ensure eligibility and record retention requirements are met.
  • Communicate new requirements to team via training, updates, and SOP creation.
  • Develops and influences adoptions of policies, identifies needs, creates, implements, and updates SOPs to reflect world-class compliance standards.
